Band leader and drummer Roy Pfeffer stands as one of London's most recognised ambassadors of New Orleans music.
Leading the acclaimed New Orleans funk band, The Big Smoke Family, they have become regulars at Ronnie Scott's and favourites on New Orleans' biggest radio station, WWOZ.
Additionally, Pfeffer is a founding member of The Cosimo Matassa Project, a band dedicated to 1950s New Orleans rhythm 'n' blues, featuring music by artists such as Fats Domino, Smiley Lewis, and Dr. John.
Pfeffer's own trio offers a soulful mix of New Orleans jazz, Mardi Gras energy, and funk, with a repertoire ranging from Grant Green to Horace Silver and Idris Muhammad. They are fixtures at some of London's finest clubs and have performed at exclusive parties for notable figures such as the American Ambassador and Jeremy Clarkson.
